How to transform a decimal number to binary?

To transform from a decimal number to a binary, we can form a table with the powers of 2 starting from 0. We are going to decompose the number and place it in this binary table. Therefore, we do the following:

  1. We find the highest power of 2 which can be extracted from the given number.
  2. We subtract that power from the given number.
  3. We find the highest power of 2 which can be extracted from the remainder obtained in step 2.
  4. We repeat step 3 until there is no longer any remainder.
  5. We place a 1 in each binary place that was found and a 0 in the places that were not found.
